About

Masha

Who am I?
My name is Masha and I am an indigenous artist-healer with an ancestral heritage of medicine women. Born in Cuenca, Ecuador, I am an Andean native (andina) of the Quechua-speaking peoples, where my paternal family lives to this day. As a child, I learned about land stewardship and plant healing during summers with my late grandmother in the Caucasus steppes of Russia. These earth traditions form the beginnings of my path as a healer. Most of what I use today are skills, techniques and knowledge gained from a lifetime of walking this shamanic path (шаман). After suffering from PTSD and complex trauma, I traveled into the depths of human experience where I developed my own hard-won methods of embodied trauma healing.
My Healing Philosophy
My mission is to provide holistic psychedelic care using a trauma-informed approach that integrates the body, heart, mind, spirit and energy by reawakening your intrinsic healing instinct and power. I guide you through the complete psychedelic healing cycle— preparation, journey, and integration— using somatic and creative techniques developed from my path as an artist-healer and rooted in the nature-based tradition of my indigenous Andean and shamanic Eurasian ancestry.
Professionalism and Experience
As a professionally trained and experienced integration coach, I have the tools and understanding to help you discover your inner healer and finally release the trauma, memories, and emotions stuck in your body and spirit. While I have studied and trained with leaders in the embodiment and psychedelic movement, I firmly believe that nothing replaces real life experience. No amount of textbooks, degrees, or certifications equals the empathy, attunement, intuition, lived experience, and wisdom necessary for the work of healing trauma with psychedelics.
With that said, I am certified in the fundamentals of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy from Numinus (a training partner of MAPS)—and also teach trainings there in psychedelic therapy. My methods are complementary and cohesive with any psychotherapy my clients may need. I have a decade of extensive training in movement, embodiment, imagination, and energy-body techniques and I incorporate many of these methods into my programs. Drama is the art of human experience and connection, and I believe that artists are the best trained facilitators for experiential healing.

FAQs

What is integration?
Growth is a process of discovery, learning, and internalizing what has changed. We must integrate the experience for it to make a lasting impact in our lives. When overcoming trauma, this is even more necessary to the healing process. There are various methods to integrating a medicine healing session; ideally, it includes all parts of you--mind, heart, and body.
How many sessions do I need?
Typically, I recommend a minimum of three sessions for general plant medicine work, such as self-growth, insight, stress reduction, spiritual exploration, etc. This can change depending on your case and intentions.
For trauma work, if you already have a medical/psychological care team in place, I recommend at least 1-2 preparation sessions, the medicine session (with or without me), and 2-3 integration sessions. For PTSD, complex, developmental, or sexual trauma, more sessions are usually best practice so that you can fully take advantage of the healing the plant medicines are giving you. With trauma, each case is truly individual, and I do offer packages for trauma healing, so please do reach out with any questions.
What is your healing philosophy?
I believe that we all have the inherent capacity and desire to heal ourselves, but that can only occur if we are safe and in the right environment. After too much time has passed or the wound is very deep, getting our bodies-emotions-minds to that safe, healing space can be very difficult without help. It’s why humans seek out relief from doctors, psychologists, priests, gurus, trainers, diets, addictions, etc. We all have individual levels of resilience. Sometimes we need help to get us out of the hole, to jumpstart our healing, to recalibrate our inner balance. I truly believe that is why Mother Earth gifts us psychedelics. To find our way back.
My role is to help you find your way back to your true self, to help you reawaken your own self-power, to help you reconnect with yourself and the world around you. I do not believe in “gurus” or that you need to surrender your power to yet another person in order to find healing or enlightenment. That divine, magical, energetic (whatever you choose to call it) power has always been rightfully yours.
What that looks like in practical terms is that I will guide you through working with the body, especially if trauma is present, using movement and somatic exercises, some breathwork and imagination techniques. I will guide you through reconnecting that to your emotions, your heartspace, your feelings. Re-establishing trust, acknowledgement and identification of your emotional waters. I will then help you contextualize your experience through the mind and refer you when necessary to your psychotherapist for long term “mindwork” or mental health care.
For psychedelic integration, this occurs within the container of your intention and trip experience. It also includes the very important element of ceremony design, creation, and performance. In my view, ceremony and ritual is where the healing experience truly settles into our bones for future change.
For trauma healing, this process occurs within the context of your personal journey and whether you are looking to heal from a singular event or heal the root cause of symptoms you are experiencing. My trauma healing philosophy is very body-based and uses creativity as a key processing method as I have found it to be the most effective approach for treatment-resistant trauma (PTSD, complex or developmental trauma, sexual traumas). I can also incorporate ceremonial practice and non-psychedelic plant healing into our work if you would like to explore that.
I tailor every healing program to you as an individual, depending on your needs. Every exercise, ceremony, and session is truly tailor-made—as it should be, because we are all unique beings living in unique bodies.
What types of clients do you work with?
I work with clients from all backgrounds, cultures, and spheres of life who are committed to their healing journey and ready to engage in deep inner work, especially clients dealing with shock trauma or complex trauma. It’s important that you are undertaking this journey of your own volition, open to change, and ready to accept the consequences that often accompany growth and healing change. Preparation sessions are key to this step of the process.
Do you specialize in healing women?
Women are absolutely centered in my practice. Helping other women and spreading female-to-female healing is what led me to create Psychedelic Goddess in the first place. Women experience a unique journey in this life and it is deeply beneficial when healing exercises are created specifically for women’s physical and emotional experience. This is especially true when women are healing from sexual trauma or physical violence, or women with PTSD or complex trauma. Unfortunately, these women are often a highly underserved population. As a survivor myself, healing that wound is what brought me into this work and led me to help heal others. I am also in the midst of developing a tailored healing program for female victims of sexual trauma.
If you are interested in paying-it-forward so that another woman can join a healing program who otherwise couldn’t afford it, please contact me at [email protected] to make a donation.
What about healing for men?
After years of working on designing a program specifically for men’s healing, I finally opened up my practice to male clients with a unique approach created for healing the masculine mind-body-heart and energy. Contact me for more information if you or your partner are interested!
What training do you have?
I am certified in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy from Numinus, a training partner of MAPS (the Multi-Disciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), and also work as a training instructor for psychedelic therapy certification programs. I am also extensively trained in movement, somatic methods, imagination, and energy-body techniques. I use the artist’s viewpoint as an entryway to healing. I am also educated in trauma-informed care and the fundamentals of psychology and psychedelics so that all of my work is complementary to the psychotherapeutic work you may already be doing or later seek out. Most importantly to me, however, I am the latest recipient of wisdom in a long line of medicine women in my female line and of indigenous Quechuan peoples in my paternal line. I draw upon and seek guidance from Mother Earth, the Goddess, the Moon, the Sun, and all of Nature when I engage as a healer.
Is our work confidential?
Everything we do is completely confidential and private. What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions, similar to seeing a psychotherapist. You can give me explicit permission to share chosen parts of your sessions with other people, including your care team or loved ones. I treat your (and my own) privacy very seriously.
